Adult Scoliosis

Scoliosis

What is Adult Scoliosis?

Adult scoliosis is a condition where the spine curves abnormally sideways in people who are fully grown. This condition can result from untreated childhood scoliosis that progresses over time, or it can develop due to degeneration of the spine with age. The curvature can vary from mild to severe, potentially causing discomfort, pain, and limited mobility. Adult scoliosis can be structural, where the spine’s curvature is fixed, or non-structural, where the curvature is temporary and related to other conditions like muscle spasms or leg length discrepancies.
